WebAquileia is a small, quiet and ancient town, about 10 kilometres north of Grado. During the time of the Roman Empire, Aquileia had one of the largest harbours on the Adriatic Sea. The city then had more than 100,000 inhabitants. Today, it is one of the most important archaeological sites in northern Italy.
